Our clients in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula were excited to transform their new home build into a functional outdoor space that they could enjoy, including gardening, relaxing in their spa and adding their own artistic flair through sculpture. The landscape construction needed to work with the natural upward sloping landscape, the materials and design chosen to capture our clients desire to create a relaxed and country cottage landscape design. The property faced onto a street and there was a property behind, both neighbours shared the same road access driveway. The first step was to create structure, safety and platform areas out the back using retaining walls. We started from the back and built the retaining walls from the top down. Garden boxes were built around the existing small deck, which allowed our client to plant and create the perfect cottage garden with beautiful flowers. Sir Walter Buffalo grass was laid on the top area, the middle was chosen to be filled with plants and the lower level would be grass free with a vegetable garden and feature clothes line in the centre. On the bottom level, a custom built espalier frame was constructed and stainless steel balustrade wire was used. Sandstone pavers were laid in the grass free area with river pebbles laid around. A small Merbau deck platform and steps were constructed to allow access to each level and Hillview granite was used in the step design which was locally sourced from Dromana. The larger side steps were built in collaboration with Dynes Eco Build. Our greatest challenge would have to be working with the slope, moving materials and especially a spa! An existing structural retaining wall in the back was transformed using twisted Rio mesh to create a climbing wall for the plants over this retaining wall. Up the top level our clients relax and unwind in their spa. Perfect Pool Fencing installed the glass fencing and we did the rest. Out the front our clients wanted to build a space that they could further plant, including grow vegetables. A Corten panel wall was constructed to provide screening. Out the front of the house, the area was cleared and two paths were constructed so that each neighbour could access their driveway from the road. The new landscape design was finished off with a custom designed Corten steel letter box, Western Port Lazer Cutting constructed and installation and design was by Coastal Creations Landscaping. Our clients love their new landscaping and have spent many hours gardening and adding their personal touch! Well done team! Before After

Installed lights in the garden BeforeAfterThe corten steel panels are sold as black sheets and over time will rust beautifully creating a rustic wall around the spa that provides both protection and privacy. BeforeAfterBamboo screens are a great way to hide garden sheds and create softness and relaxation in your landscape design. We planted bamboo in the garden bed just in front of the bamboo panels which will grow quickly creating softness and privacy in the pool area. Many thanks to our amazing clients for spoiling us whilst we worked at your property. Thanks again to our great team for helping to create this beautiful landscape transformation in Frankston South.
We are currently working on a custom built outdoor dining table for these clients, so stay tuned! The reclaimed wood we are using is beautiful. Our clients in Safety Beach wanted to add some privacy to their front courtyard and desired a landscape construction solution that complemented their existing modern rustic landscape design.
Our clients chose corten steel laser cut panels from Westernport Laser Cutting as they provided views onto the street and added curb appeal through their creative pattern design. We used 150 x 150 mm dressed Cyprus Posts to brace the corten steel panels and create a beautiful border to complete the look. Corten steel panels are a great creative option for use on coastal properties as the screens are designed to rust and can be used for fencing, outdoor screens or even as an outdoor metal art focal point. Our clients love the end result and so do we! We just finished installing a custom built rustic steel screen with a cyprus border for our lovely clients in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula. Our clients wanted to create interest and a focal point at the back of their house.
We were excited to fill up this blank canvas space! We constructed a 2x3 metre steel screen using 50mm x 3mm flat bar steel and 125mm x 125mm cyprus posts with 150mm x 50mm capping as the border. The steel screen was woven using 50mm spacing squares, which is a fairly tight weave for steel construction. Our lovely clients will be planting a local native climber at the base of the screen to give the area greenery and pops of colour when it flowers. The steel is designed to rust which in time will create a great rustic effect for this space. |
