We recently transformed our clients long country driveway in Rosebud/Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula. A large aspect of this project was creating a drainage solution that would remove excess rain water from the driveway. The steel edging and rocks we added created the perfect solution for this driveway whilst complementing the home. We can't wait to get back to this property to complete further works. Our clients love the result and commented on how structurally sound our landscape construction is! The team at Coastal Creations Landscaping recently completed a landscaping makeover for our clients in St Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. Working alongside Robyn Barlow Design and Claire Martin, the team worked to transform this French inspired holiday house façade from overgrown to understated Coastal Charm Cottage.
The landscape design complemented the recent coastal garden transformation of the back yard and two side fences. This was seen through the u-shape flowing drive-way, native indigenous planting, beautiful Indian Sandstone pavers and grass paver blocks creating the industrial edge. A transformation of the side walk-way was also included in the design which included a new outdoor rustic shower, Indian Sandstone pavers, a lock up bike storage box and custom built screen and gate. With the design in place the team starting the project by first clearing out the dead trees, undergrowth and weeds from the front and side. A dig out was completed of the driveway and cement treated base rock was laid. The existing front porch was extended. The fun started though after the outdoor shower base was laid and shower connected to the septic tank. That's when it became apparent that there was a whole new challenge and toileting puns became the savour for getting through the process of dealing with the septic tank and waste. With the council rolling out new septic mains in the area, it was a blessing in disguise for our clients who took the opportunity for a new solution to their old and full septic tank. With the help of Hydrate Plumbing, a new septic tank pumping station was installed and connected to the septic mains. After that it was smooth sailing. The grass pave blocks were laid from Austral Masonry and Bairnsdale toppings were used as a filler. The coastal garden was planted, along with irrigation, geofabric to separate soil from toppings and landscaping lighting. The front yard creates a simple and solid foundation for the plants to grow and flourish, thus creating continual appeal for years to come. We look forward to seeing this space transform. Our clients in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula were excited to transform their new home build into a functional outdoor space that they could enjoy, including gardening, relaxing in their spa and adding their own artistic flair through sculpture. The landscape construction needed to work with the natural upward sloping landscape, the materials and design chosen to capture our clients desire to create a relaxed and country cottage landscape design. The property faced onto a street and there was a property behind, both neighbours shared the same road access driveway. The first step was to create structure, safety and platform areas out the back using retaining walls. We started from the back and built the retaining walls from the top down. Garden boxes were built around the existing small deck, which allowed our client to plant and create the perfect cottage garden with beautiful flowers. Sir Walter Buffalo grass was laid on the top area, the middle was chosen to be filled with plants and the lower level would be grass free with a vegetable garden and feature clothes line in the centre. On the bottom level, a custom built espalier frame was constructed and stainless steel balustrade wire was used. Sandstone pavers were laid in the grass free area with river pebbles laid around. A small Merbau deck platform and steps were constructed to allow access to each level and Hillview granite was used in the step design which was locally sourced from Dromana. The larger side steps were built in collaboration with Dynes Eco Build. Our greatest challenge would have to be working with the slope, moving materials and especially a spa! An existing structural retaining wall in the back was transformed using twisted Rio mesh to create a climbing wall for the plants over this retaining wall. Up the top level our clients relax and unwind in their spa. Perfect Pool Fencing installed the glass fencing and we did the rest. Out the front our clients wanted to build a space that they could further plant, including grow vegetables. A Corten panel wall was constructed to provide screening. Out the front of the house, the area was cleared and two paths were constructed so that each neighbour could access their driveway from the road. The new landscape design was finished off with a custom designed Corten steel letter box, Western Port Lazer Cutting constructed and installation and design was by Coastal Creations Landscaping. Our clients love their new landscaping and have spent many hours gardening and adding their personal touch! Well done team! Before After
Our client in Dromana wanted a minimal and clean landscaping design solution for her new home build in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula. She was after a beautiful lawn for her grandchildren to play and landscaping construction solutions that allowed her to plant her favourite plants and grow a strong and healthy vegetable patch. The goal of the makeover was to maintain the original contour of the land and provide an outdoor space to relax and engage in her gardening hobby. A retained garden bed was constructed to allow our client to plant trees along her fence line and along her windows. The garden beds had old soil removed and were filled with healthy garden blended soil. Raised planter boxes were constructed using treated pine, then lined with plastic and filled with vegetable blend to support a strong and healthy vegetable garden. To allow a healthy and lush grass to grow we removed the old top soil which contained pollutants from the house build, and added 80-100ml of clean organic top soil for the grass. Eureka Kikuyu grass turf was laid from Strathayr. At the front of the property a curved path was constructed from the deck to an entrance gate. Steel edging was using to shape the path and Australian hardwood sleepers were used for the steps. The path was laid with Bairnsdale topping, and Crazy Indian Sandstone Pavers were used for the steppers. Our client is so happy with her green healthy lawn and her vegetable garden is growing beautifully. We are also providing a fortnightly lawn and garden maintenance program for her new landscaping to ensure that it's kept healthy and strong . Our client is delighted by her new outdoor space and loves getting outdoors and sharing it with her family and friends. Photos Before Photos After
Coastal Coastal Creations Landscaping completed a country landscaping project for a new home build in Merricks Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. Working in collaboration with Genus Landscape Architects, the landscape design was inspired by formal native gardens and clean lines through the landscape construction. A few creative touches were added to create interest including the jagged edge hardwood fire pit area, staggered hardwood sleeper path and jagged steel edging on the lawn. The property was a clean slate after the home build, and the first step was to create structure and stability around the home by moving soil back from the home, building a retaining wall, steps, and levelling out gravel paths. A dry creek river bed was created and planted with natives to provide drainage and create space between the laid turf and wild grass. Sir Walter Buffalo grass was used for the turf. The pool area was paved and a rock garden was planted around the pool. Hardwood sleepers were used to build a path along the front of the home, and these sleepers were laid using a staggered effect. Steel edging was used to create strong clean lines that separated the garden beds from the paths and turf. Hardwood sleepers were laid and pinned in concrete to build a fire pit area at the front of the home. Coastal Creations Landscaping constructed two bench seats made out of 200x200 cyprus posts and another bench seat positioned at the top of the sleeper pathway. We are sure our clients will enjoy many hours having a nice cold drink, sitting on their benches, watching the sun go down, or gazing into their fire pit. Our experience working with reclaimed timber on this project has been a sneaky double edged sword. But, being tenacious and like every great story, this project was triumphant against the many challenges faced by our skilled craftsmen in working with a timber that was over 120 years old. The excitement and enthusiasm to create a unique outdoor setting that had beautiful appeal and history for our great clients in Frankston South, was easily counteracted by the challenges and frustrations uncovered when dealing with the imperfections of reclaimed timber. But the timber had years left in her, and we were up for the challenge to transform the Douglas Fir timber into chic outdoor furniture that complemented their existing pool landscaping. What were the challenges you may ask? Well, these 5 pieces of Douglas Fir timber were carefully selected by our clients but it took us over 7 hours to remove nails and screws embedded in the timber once upon a time when it acted as floor joists. After having the timber pieces milled and squared, all the hidden imperfections were now clearly visible, including burn marks and oil stains, which can cause reaction with sealants and vanish. And we did come across some annoying reactions during the curing process. But with persistence these challenges were overcome. Our clients vision for the outdoor setting was to create an outdoor table and bench that had a distressed look with a white base to match their existing outdoor furniture. We got to work to first bog up the little holes in the timber, then painted the timber with weather shield white paint. Next our handy work came in by lightly hand sanding the timber to achieve a distressed and weathered look. Six coats of marine grade high gloss varnish were applied to all sides of the timber to seal and protect the surface from the outdoor elements. Time was needed to allow the coatings to cure and the weather played a big part in choosing the right days to paint due to humidity and heat. DBG Engineering created the curved frames our clients were after and Kev's Powercoating & Sandblasting gave the steel a sleek black finish for an industrial look. The steel legs also nicely complemented the corten steel panels in the home's landscape design. The table and bench seats were delivered just in time for an outdoor family event. We were very happy to finally send this project off to our clients, and our clients love the final result! Thank-you to all of our great suppliers on the Mornington Peninsula. The outdoor furniture now glows with appeal and entices enjoyment, just like the liquid gold produced from the old Cartlon United Brewery which the timber was reclaimed from. Before photos After Photos What do you get when you combine the creative flair of a musician/barrister with the passion and creativity of a French chef? You get a beautiful and functional landscape design that combines low-maintenance and natural landscape elements inspired by the rolling sand dunes of St Andrews Beach, with a practical space to grow fresh produce and entertain guests. This rustic and natural landscape design creates an open space that transforms from day to night and from season to season. An artistic and creative flair was introduced with rustic and industrial outdoor sculptures which complemented the homes interior decorating and feel. The creative and practical use of landscape lighting turns the central garden hot house into a night time focal point. Let's not forget the importance of accommodating all people in the family. A custom built cat run and cat enclosure was installed by Coastal Creations Landscaping to ensure that even the furry friends could enjoy the beautiful outdoor space and be close to their owners. Like all landscape design and construction projects, they each come with their unforeseen challenges. The initial process of waste removal and clearing always bears nasty gems hidden from the first glances of an outdoor space. There was much to do at the start to create a fresh slate, including removing wild rocket, old concrete and filling a pond in the back corner. But out with the old and in with the new is what we do! We estimate that over 300 wheelbarrows of Bairnsdale topping were physically brought into the property to create a lush and serene rolling sand dunes feel to the backyard. Overall about 400-450 wheelbarrows moved through to the back yard, which kept our men fit to say the least! Our clients were excited about creating new form and texture to their existing space, and the landscape design was an ever evolving plan created through constant communication with our clients and their landscape designers. Our clients were passionate and hands on about the look and feel of their new backyard landscape design, which ensured that they were completely happy with the final outcome. An extensive irrigation system was installed which was connected to their new bore pump located in their front yard. This ensures that throughout all the seasons and weather, the plants, trees and vegetable gardens are getting exactly as much water as they need. Plants native to the Mornington Peninsula, were chosen to complement the rolling sand dunes including Sheoak, Sea Box, Moonah and Banksia. The flora chosen will grow into beautiful trees, shrubs and coverings, creating a natural and lush feel for our clients in the years to come. The square lawn area was constructed by installing a retaining wall and squared off with steel edging. Quality Matilda Buffalo grass was laid and a custom built bench seat by Coastal Creations Landscaping provides a quiet space to sit and relax. Our clients wanted a landscape design that embraced the local areas natural landscape, was low-maintenance and also provided a space to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of a busy week. Also, if you are a foodie then stay tuned, as our talented French client/chef will be launching intimate gatherings of food preparation and cooking in her home in the near future. We loved turning our clients vision into reality, and are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this landscaping design and construction project. Our clients are so happy with the end result which is always our main priority. We wish them lots of hours of enjoyment in their new outdoor garden. And thank-you for all of the hard work by the Coastal Creations Landscaping team, you guys are brilliant! Before photos Progress photos After photos Our great clients in Frankston South love their new pool side revamp, the new outdoor space is ready for warm summer days. Working alongside Genus Landscape Architects, we helped to transform the existing pool with fresh hard and soft landscaping including brush fencing, installing a spa, spa decking, corten steel panel walls, bamboo panels, new plants, drip line irrigation and landscape lighting to finish the landscape design all off. The steps of the works performed by Coastal Creations Landscaping are listed below: 1. Spa dig out 2. Constructed retaining wall around the perimeter of the deck and around the spa 3. Laid the concrete slab for footing for the spa 4. Put spa in place 5. Built a sub floor around the spa, allowing an area for a trap door to access the spa 6. Laid spa decking 7. Installed corten steel panels around the spa and along the pool area. 8. Filled the spa 9. Installed bamboo panels to the garden shed 10. Took out old unusable soil from the garden beds and refilled them with clean organic garden blend soil. 11. Installed drip line irrigation 12. Installed lights in the garden BeforeAfterThe corten steel panels are sold as black sheets and over time will rust beautifully creating a rustic wall around the spa that provides both protection and privacy. BeforeAfterBamboo screens are a great way to hide garden sheds and create softness and relaxation in your landscape design. We planted bamboo in the garden bed just in front of the bamboo panels which will grow quickly creating softness and privacy in the pool area. Many thanks to our amazing clients for spoiling us whilst we worked at your property. Thanks again to our great team for helping to create this beautiful landscape transformation in Frankston South.
We are currently working on a custom built outdoor dining table for these clients, so stay tuned! The reclaimed wood we are using is beautiful. At last this beautiful outdoor metal art pear sculpture has arrived to its new home at Marine Park Equestrian property in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula.
Over 400 horse shoes were used to create this amazing outdoor sculpture, the shoes were kindly donated by a good friend and farrier based on the Morninton Peninsula. The sculpture was a creative project which first involved the preparation and cleaning of the horse shoes, then planning of the pear. Each horse shoe has been structurally wielded to ensure a durable and long lasting outdoor metal art piece for our clients. Many thanks to Campbell Hammersley-Alderson for assisting with design and construction of the pear. This Outdoor Metal Art Pear sculpture stands at over 1.8 metres high and is a beautiful addition to our clients existing outdoor art on her property. Many thanks to everyone who assisted with the transport and installation of this art piece. A complete front and back rustic and natural landscaping transformation was created for this home in Mornington on the Morninton Peninsula, Victoria. Our clients were excited to create a landscape design and construction that used both hard and soft landscape elements that were practical and aestically pleasing. We got to work to build a two tier red gum retaining wall with steel uprights. The retaining wall was structually sound, providing support and foundation for the elevated front yard, whilst creating a stunning focal point that our clients would love to see everytime they arrived home. Aggregate drains were installed behind both walls, back filled with scoria rock then topped with garden blend top soil. A mixed variety of native grasses, cordeline and flowering plants were planted for a colour impact. A full drip irrigation system with a 13mm drip line was installed to ensure the garden would grow and flourish all year round. Installing a reliable irrigation system also provides peace of mind and the freedom to be away from home during the hot summer months. The garden was topped off with black mulch and several mount bulla mud stone rocks were scattered throughout to add character. Six steps were constructed using merbau to provide street access to the house, enabling people to access the front gate without having to walk up the drive way. Retaining wall planter boxes were installed next to the steps, and capped with 140x45mm dressed Merbau to provide a sleek finish. The planter boxes also provided a frame for the steps, creating softness with flowering plants and texture adjacent to the exposed aggregate concrete driveway. Mentone Concrete laid the driveway and filled the steps with exposed aggregate concrete. A Rustic Fencing Design was constructed using Cyprus posts and Cyprus capping. A hard wood picture frame was constructed and installed to the front and the back of the fence to hold and secure the mini corrugated iron sheets. Our clients chose the iron sheets in bush smoke colour to create a natural look colour scheme. We designed and built two custom gates using steel, then powder coated which were constructed to the fence. The double gate was cladded with hard wood and mini corrugated iron. The single gate was cladded with cyprus pickets surrounded by a picture frame design. Out the back we levelled out the soil and laid approx 150 square metres of Sir Walter Buffalo Grass to create an instant beautiful turf for the backyard. Our clients love their new rustic and natural landscape design. This landscaping transformation has added value to the property, curb appeal to the home and privacy to their backyard. BEFORE
A recently purchased holiday home in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula, was in need of a landscaping revamp including some over due TLC. The existing landscape had a good design but all the plants had overgrown and were very neglected. Our clients not only wanted a revamp for their newly purchased holiday home, they also wanted a landscape that was low-maintenance and looked great all year round. We got to work to complete an entire landscape transformation. At the front, a red-gum retaining wall was constructed to create a break to the nature strip, the rocks were rearranged, irrigation was installed and new plants were planted. Low-maintenance and drought tolerant plants were chosen to ensure they thrived even when our clients were away from the property. Concrete was laid around the house and a slab installed out the back as a foundation to the shed. Out the back a new retaining wall was constructed and a dry rock wall installed. New Basalt steppers where laid across the yard, along with new irrigation, plants and fresh mulch laid on top. All the concrete was coloured sealed to ensure longevity. Our clients absolutely loved the final result! Front Before Backyard Before Backyard After
Recycled apple crates are a great, cost effective landscaping solution for growing vegetables in your garden.
Our clients in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula, had a space they wanted to create a veggie garden and so we got to work to make it happen. The area had a sloping bank and uneven surface, so the first step was to build a retaining wall to create a flat and solid platform which could be built upon. A circular retaining wall was chosen to create a flow in design for the natural area which would be complemented by steel edging. The centre of the area was filled with crushed rock and topped with Dromana toppings. Five square recycled apple crates were positioned symmetrically in the area with even spacing all around. The apple crates were prepared by first lining them with weed mat to allow for water drainage, and then heavy duty building plastic was lined around the sides. The crates were then half filled with scoria which is a light building material, with high drainage, that is used behind retaining walls. Mushroom mulch was mixed with top soil and applied on top. This mix provides nutrients to the garden as the fruit and veggies grow. Lastly an olive tree was positioned in the centre to finish the look. The gardens are now bursting full of lots of delicious home grown fruit and veggies that our clients love including kale, broccoli, lettuce, spring onion, strawberries, basil, tomato and more! We recently created a front yard landscape makeover for a property in Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Our clients wanted to create a transformation that was low-maintenance whilst also complementing their existing landscape design. When we first met with our clients their front yard had a large hedge which they found to be high maintenance and was not adding any extra appeal or use to their front yard. The hedge was approximately 1.5 metres wide and created privacy for our clients, but the existing grass on their front yard wasn't growing and their current drive-way was quite narrow so they didn't have much space when reversing their car from the garage. The goal of the project was to create a private court-yard garden that our clients could enjoy. After the hedge was removed. The old grass was removed and a front paling fence was constructed with cyprus posts to create privacy. Front fence completed Turf-blend topping was laid to level out the ground and create a healthy foundation for the fresh grass turf to grow. A planter box was also constructed around the existing garden to help define the area. Fresh Sir-Buffalo Grass being laid Before and After Sir-Walter Buffalo Grass was laid Quality steel edging was constructed around the existing garden to help contain the mulch toppings and create a neat boarder. Fresh mulch was also laid throughout the gardens and and the grass was topped with new soil in the joins which new grass will grow through. The new fence was painted. You can also see in the photo below how the drive-way was widened using Lilydale topping crushed rock. Our clients loved the finished look and have had friends also comment on how great their new private court-yard garden looks!
We recently installed a new picket fence and gates with an automatic swing system for a home in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula. We constructed the 1.8 metre picket fence with capping using 70mm x 20mm cyprus pickets, 150mm x 50mm cyprus capping and treated pine sleepers and rails.
The line of the fence was slightly sloping so we installed each panel with a 100mm step down. Metal gates were wielded in our workshop and then were sent away to get powder coated. We also installed a letterbox into the fence. Once powder coated, the strong metal frame gate was cladded with cyprus pickets and hung. The whole fence and gate has been painted by the client and is just waiting for a top coat. Dean from Southern Peninsula Gates installed the automatic gate swing system which is the FAAC brand. Our clients love the security their new fence brings and the ease of their new automatic gate system. We recently completed a front and backyard landscape design and construction transformation for a new home in Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Our clients had a small backyard but big ideas on transforming this outdoor space into something they would love and use regularly. The backyard had an existing back fence and a small deck already constructed, but the backyard sloped downwards and the space was unusable. The first step was to construct a retaining wall across the whole back boundary fence and part way along the side boundary fence. This would provide a wall to build up and level the existing free space in the backyard. A box retaining wall was constructed to provide a space to house the clients Thin Tanks (www.thintanks.com.au) and plumbing. The tanks were positioned in ground to hide the plumbing equipment and view for our clients and surrounding properties. The backyard was back filled with soil to create a level backyard ready for the next phase. The side boundary fence was also prepared by installing upright posts and then attaching the palings. The fence was 1.9 meters high on our clients side. With the backyard levelled and fence constructed, we extended the existing deck out by an extra board to ensure the decking covered a previously laid protruding concrete slab. We extended the deck vertically by constructing a merbau screen to create a beautiful flow on effect. Sand stone crazy paving steppers were laid along the side of the house. We had a lot of rain during this project which is one of the challenges of landscaping through the winter months. Our goal is always to minimise projects getting messy and sometimes that means holding off construction on very wet days. Overall we were happy with the level of mud created during the project. The sand stone crazy pavers were surrounded with 20mm gold beach pebbles. During the construction process the fence was painted by our client. Fence height extenders were also installed to increase privacy in the backyard. The astro turf was installed which created a WOW effect in the backyard. Our clients are huge golf fans and play regularly so it was an easy and brilliant idea to turn their small backyard space into a golf putting green. Two lengths of synthetic grass turf were installed and blended to create a natural golf putting green effect. We think the Thin Tanks ( www.thintanks.com.au) are a brilliant idea. And for a little bit extra you can get the vertical planter pockets install which are a great way to hide the tanks and add extra plants to a small space backyard. You can fill the planters with your favourite plants or even create an outdoor herb garden. With the Thin Tanks in place and the plumbing connected, we only had to install stepper pavers in front of the Thin Tanks and surround them with 20mm sunset rock which was also placed at the bottom of the tanks and along the other side boundary fence. With the backyard complete and looking fantastic, we then moved on to the front-yard of this Mornington property. Our clients wanted to create a front courtyard that was low-maintenance but still looked great. The front yard and home entrance is the first things people notice when they arrive. Having great curb appeal can really add value to your home and is a wise investment. We loved that our clients wanted to create a unique and creative landscape design. We first constructed a retained box which would become a planter box for the small front courtyard. Framing for a new front fence was constructed by installing one sleeper across the bottom and 4 vertical posts along which would hold the new horizontal aluminium slats to be installed. The new fence will be 1.5metres high and allow for partial viewing into the front court yard. The area was then prepared for paving. 50mm thick granitic sand pavers were laid in a staggered creative paving layout. These pavers are concrete with a granitic sand finish. 14mm white and cream pebbles were placed around the paving. The client has chosen to plant his own plants around the pavers and in the planter box along the border of the courtyard space. Our client loved the paving design and so did we! A thin retaining wall planter box was also constructed along the drive-way and filled in with the 14mm white and cream pebbles. Small plants will also be planted along this short fence line to add some colour to the space. Lastly the front nature strip was levelled out and topped with soil then seeded.
Our clients loved their front and back transformation and look forward to enjoying more time outdoors! We recently completed landscaping for two brand new properties in Bittern on the Mornington Peninsula. Side by side these two properties only had mud and dirt, but were finished with a complete landscape design and construction. Both properties had different owners, one was looking to sell and the other would be a rental. Both owners wanted a low-maintenance garden design with quality concreting in the front and back. Property A. Charcoal colour crete was used to concrete the drive-way and garden beds were constructed. Weed matting was laid and topped with black mulch. Our clients chose to plant their own plants. The front yard was seeded and with all the rain should grow well in no time. This home is now ready to sell!! Property B. Exposed aggregate concreting was laid in this drive-way and a low-maintenance rock garden design was implemented. The retained garden beds were constructed and weed mat was laid, topped with river pebbles to create a low-maintenance garden design for this rental property. Drought tolerant plants were chosen that could survive in the clay soil present in the area. Our client wanted to have native plants in the garden and so we chose a contemporary style of landscaping and included plants that would soften the rock garden and create a visual impact from the street. Electric Pink Cordyline were planted to give the garden a focal point and create an instant sculptural statement to the garden design. These plants are low-maintenance and in time will clump, creating a stylish contrast to the brick work and rock garden. We added this small plant with the commercial name Silver Nugget. This silver cushion bush is very hardy and will grow to a 50x50cm clump. This beauty is great for coastal areas and in time will make a striking contrast to the garden design with its silver foliage and tiny yellow button flowers in spring. With low water requirements these nuggets are perfect! The front garden design was completed with 4 x Lime Tuff from the Lomandra species which are a bright green native grass, have low water needs and will grow to 50cm wide. We also added three red fountain grasses, a native know as Pennisetum setaceum "Rubrum". This beauty has burgundy coloured foliage and will bear pink flower spikes in the summer months creating bold and dramatic colour to the rock garden. Out the back The back of the house will be kept tidy and mud free with pebbles and square pavers. The backyard was laid with exposed aggregate concreting and a wrap around garden bed was constructed with a wood platform landing. This small courtyard landscape design is perfect for entertaining friends, just add a table and bbq to finish it off. Out the back we planted more Lime Tuff grasses and 3 bright green cushion like plants known as "Scleranthus biflorus". Along the fence we also planted some "Everygreen Baby" and "Patersonia- long purple flag" along the fence. The tenants to this house will be very lucky! We want to wish both our clients all the very best on these two homes. We definitely had fun working in the wet, rain and mud!! We recently completed a side path landscaping makeover for a lovely house in Mt Martha on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Our clients are getting their house ready to sell and wanted to transform their side path into a space that looked great and was easy to access. A modern landscape design path was chosen that was low-maintenance and allowed our clients to add their own plants. The project involved removing the old wood edging and constructing a new retaining wall edging to hold the path toppings in place and create a garden bed. Next a bamboo screen was installed to cover the neighbours garage wall and create a feature wall which could be viewed from the main bedroom. A side gate was also installed which was constructed using cyprus paddle pop pickets. The ground was levelled out and weed mat was laid down. The garden bed was filled with black mulch topping and golden beach screenings was laid over the side path walk-way area. Lastly 40 x 40 cm square charcoal pavers were placed on the top of the screenings. Our lovely clients will be adding their own plants to the garden bed and bringing colour to the bamboo screen feature wall by adding their own large planters and filling them with their favourite plants. We think the space looks great! All the best with selling your house guys! Before After
We recently constructed a standard paling fence on a not so standard property in Frankston. The property was situated in Frankston hot spot area, Oliver's hill.
The beautiful ocean views were counterbalanced with super steep slopes, sliding soil and the enquistive neighbours. This was definitely one of those landscape construction jobs that they don't include in the manual. The weather was great and moving the posts up the hill felt like we had signed up to a boot camp. With people walking and running up the adjacent stairs for exercise, it was heaven sent when the Mt Eliza junior boys Redlegs football club came across us in their training. The young, fit and very kind boys helped us move all our upright posts up the hill via the stairs, Paul Vosti the coach, you are an absolute legend! Tackling the steep slope was our greatest challenge. Moving the materials , digging holes and placing materials into position all became a bit trickier. We definitely had fun chasing our shovels, levels and posts from sliding down the hill. We dug the upright posts in deeper to give the fence more stability. When dealing with slopes like this, quality construction is even more important to ensure that the fence is built to stand the coastal elements. We got the job done in two days and we think it looks great. Thanks to everyone involved! We recently transformed a small backyard space that was over growing with weeds to a lovely low-maintenance courtyard landscape design for our clients in Mornington. Our clients main objective was to have an outdoor space that was tidy and easy to maintain. This great space has good morning and afternoon sun, and the soil constitutes of about 200mm of top soil and below that is clay. A wrap around raised garden bed was constructed then filled with river pebbles and drought tolerant plants that are easy to look after. The centre space was cleared and laid down with synthetic grass which is a great solution for a low-maintenance and beautiful lawn. Our client was delighted with the end result and can't wait to start enjoying that great afternoon sun in his new courtyard. Before Photos
We recently transformed our clients side yard into a private and low-maintenance personal sanctuary in Mornington. The original vision for the area was to create a space with - Low levels of direct sunlight to safe guard our client against strong sun rays - Low maintenance garden and lawn - Greater privacy as one of the fences was adjacent to a walk-way - A feeling of a personal and private sanctuary, but also large enough to host family and friends The solution to our clients vision was -Removal of the old pergola and replace it with a new, larger pergola -To construct a second pergola large enough to provide shade for a large lounge suite -Laying down synthetic grass which is low maintenance, visually attractive and looks and feels real -To build a wrap around raised garden bed with drought tolerant plants -Insert bamboo screens for added privacy and visual aesthetics -Insert a low-maintenance water feature to enhance the spaces tranquil feel Overall the project went as planned and now our client has a fresh slate to add his personal touch. Our client can't wait to sit on his lounge and gain inspiration for his writing. We love landscaping on the Mornington Peninsula and love creating a special outdoor space for our clients to relax in.
